Swim Across America – a national nonprofit with a 27-year-history raising funds to battle cancer – sought to boost media awareness and attendance surrounding their 2014 Greenwich-Stamford event. Swim Across America engaged Co-Communications with a goal of increasing event visibility and reach.
Co-Communications focused on a proactive, pre-event strategy to generate media coverage beforehand and engage more donors. Co-Communications tapped into the individual stories of swimmers and fundraisers planning to participate, including a Greenwich High School senior in remission and a star high school athlete with a swimming scholarship to Princeton University.
Co-Communications’ story-driven media campaign garnered influential print, online and broadcast media coverage, including stories in Fox News (national), Greenwich Magazine and Greenwich Time. Co-Communications assisted with Swim Across America’s timeline from beginning to end, beginning two months out and continuing through with on-site event assistance and post-event media relations.
