Fitness Together
A case study in Public Relations

Our regional work with Fitness Together was so successful that it led to our handling its national public relations and media effort, which includes over 300 Fitness Together franchises throughout the United States, as well as in Israel, Ireland and Canada.

Here’s how we did it…

Our Client: Fitness Together, the world’s largest personal training organization within a customized setting, is part of Fitness For Life Franchise Corporation. The Area Director of New York for Fitness Together establishes Fitness Together franchises in and around the state by helping to select sites, conduct lease negotiations and identify the proper staff and trainers.

The Challenge: As a young franchise in the state of New York, Fitness Together was not well-known in this area. The Area Director needed to build the brand and recruit both customers and franchisees in New York State.

The Solution: Co-Communications clearly communicated to the consumer audience the benefits of one-on-one personal training and the distinct benefits of Fitness Together, while also communicating to the business audience the benefits of owning a Fitness Together franchise.

The Results:

  • Over 80 media placements in 9 months
  • Scott Thompson, Area Director of Fitness Together, was featured on the front cover of the Westchester County Business Journal
  • Woodbury, Long Island studio owner Bob Mittleman was featured as an expert in stress relief through exercise in the top Focus story in Long Island Business News
  • In just nine months, site purchases in Westchester County and Long Island increased dramatically with seven new sites currently operating and an additional 12 sites slated to open.
  • The campaign was recognized with a “Big W” award from the Advertising Club of Westchester.
