| “In this
age of communication through graphics, we can’t forget the
importance of words for conveying messages.”
Mindy Hermann, Senior Writer
Mindy Hermann became a writer serendipitously. A registered dietitian,
Mindy first developed writing skills as a spokesperson for the New
York State Dietetic Association, which she parlayed into magazine
and public relations writing. She joined Co-Communications to help
its clients deliver their messages in a clear and effective way.
In Mindy’s first career, she worked as a nutrition specialist
at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She dabbled as a freelance
writer on her days off, writing for both magazines and public relations
firms. With the birth of her twin sons in 1990, Mindy left her hospital
job and became a full-time writer. She has by-lined over 300 articles
for magazines and websites and has co-authored several award-winning
books, in addition to ghost-writing articles and books.
Mindy was active in the Westchester Association of Women Business
Owner, where she was a board member for several years. She currently
serves as chair of communications for Bet Torah in Mount Kisco and
has coordinated public relations for numerous community service
organizations. Mindy is the founder and Executive Director of the
Westchester Klezmer Program, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to building
community through Jewish dance music.
Mindy earned a B.S. in Public Health, with a concentration in dietetics,
from University of California, Los Angeles and a Master’s
in Business Administration in Marketing from New York University.
