Jessica Lyon, Vice President
Jessica Lyon heads the Connecticut office of Co-Communications
and is responsible for generating new business, overseeing the daily
aspects of Connecticut accounts, and developing and maintaining
strong media relations.
She joined Co-Communications with an extensive newspaper background.
Previously employed at Hometown Publications in Shelton, Conn.,
she started as a general assignment reporter with ten coverage areas.
Working her way up to editor of the Hamden Journal and arriving
as editor of the Stratford Star, Jessica has also written
for the Connecticut Post and College Bound Magazine,
among various other publications.
Jessica’s agency experience includes Cubitt, Jacobs &
Prosek Communications. She worked as a senior account executive
on the Financial Team, servicing accounts ranging from electronic
brokerage firms to mortgage lending institutions. She placed her
clients in USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Newsday, Investment Dealer's
Digest, as well as many other top national newspapers and industry
trades.
Jessica filmed and edited an award-winning documentary, “BETA
GIRL,” which documented a year-in-the-life of Jennifer Platt,
the only female photographer at Connecticut’s News Channel
8. Jessica also volunteers as the Media Chairwoman for the Rett
Syndrome Research Foundation and Sara Taccone Foundation for the
Arts.
A member of the Society of Professional Journalists, Women in Communications
and PRSA, Jessica graduated from Southern Connecticut State University
with a Bachelor of Science honors degree in Journalism.
